Shockwave Therapy

What is the VersaTron4Paws High-Energy Sound Wave Technology?

VersaTron4Paws uses high-energy sound waves to deeply penetrate and travel through soft tissue at different depths to the injured area. This intense stimulation speeds up the healing process and subsides the pain in your pet.

How Does It Work?

The high-energy sound waves stimulate the healing of cells while reducing inflammation and swelling. They also increase blood flow, help the formation of bones to form and enhance healing.

What Can be Treated With The VersaTron4Paws Technology?

Shock wave is a non-invasive treatment that reduces lameness and increases their mobility. It can be used as an alternative to surgery. It also relieves pain in dogs with:

Osteoarthritis
Tendon and ligament injuries
Wounds

Bone fractures
Back pain
Shoulder instability

What Can I Expect From An Average Treatment?

An average treatment typically takes a total of 5-10 minutes. Your dog will be given a short-acting and reversible sedation to ensure their optimal comfort. Your dog will then have to be shaved or clipped so the sound waves are not interrupted. From there, our staff will select the number of pulses for a specific area and deliver the pulses in less than 3 minutes.

What Should I Know and Expect Post-Treatment?

Your pet should not take part in any strenuous or high-impact activity to maximize the healing process. Multiple treatments may be recommended in order for maximum healing.

Is This Different From Laser Therapy?

Yes, Shock Wave therapy uses high-energy sound waves, which minimizes the risk of burns. Contrary to Shock Therapy, Laser Therapy uses intensive light to heal the area.

Acupuncture & Electro-Acupuncture

What Is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is the stimulation of specific points on the body with the insertion of very fine needles. Treatment protocols are tailored to your individual pet. We review their medical history, pain index score, and complete a physical examination of their neurological and musculoskeletal systems.

How Does It Work?

The insertion of fine needles promotes self-healing properties in various areas of the nervous system. It also enhances blood circulation, balances the nervous system, and releases anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving hormones.

What Kinds of Things Can You Treat?

Although nearly any medical problem can benefit from acupuncture treatment, here are some common conditions that are frequently benefited by acupuncture:

Arthritis (elbow dysplasia, hip dysplasia or cruciate ligament damage)
Post operative/trauma recovery (rehabilitation)

Chronic pain (IVDD, Cervical Disc Pain, other medical conditions ).
Allergies

Are There Any Side Effects?

Acupuncture is a gentle and safe procedure that will benefit your pet. Some of our animals may seem a little worse the day after treatment, but this typically passes within a day or two.

How Many Times Do Animals Typically Need to be Treated?

Our treatment appointments last anywhere between 20 to 30 minutes. Depending on the type of illness, severity of symptoms, and overall health of the animal, this may be once per week or once per month or two. Each animal is unique and different, which is why we evaluate the frequency of each treatment on a case-by-case basis.
